What changed recently
- SITE Gakuran Wiki opens with all 15 fighting styles, the roll odds behind them, reroll maths, the height and ethnicity tables, and a codes list cross-checked against four separate trackers.
- Roblox last shipped an update to the experience on August 27, with 12,000-plus players in servers and 213 million lifetime visits when we checked the API.
- CODES CQC is the only Gakuran code still redeemable. IGN re-tested the list on August 26 and the game wiki agrees; EATUP, SINGALONG and idk are dead even though two large code sites still print them as working.
- MAJOR Update #22 (v2.679), logged on the official Trello: instruments reworked with a new arrow note shape and 15 extra songs, Yenapp and Socialink rebuilt, 196 new hair IDs, 8 new faces, 4 new uniforms, and Tetris, Connect Four, Jumper and a reaction timer added to the flip phone.
- MAJOR Update #21 (v7.500): 48 new accessories across every slot except waist, accessory scaling, a sailor uniform, 10 new faces including two catboy faces, and bulk roll purchases for players who have bought 50x rolls more than twice.

What Gakuran actually is
Gakuran is a Roblox school roleplay game set in a Japanese town in May 2007, created by GakuranDev and running on 213 million visits with roughly 89% likes. It was built as a slice-of-life experience — classrooms, a library of readable books, a music room with a full rhythm minigame, basketball and volleyball, a convenience store with real jobs — and the community turned the streets outside into a fighting game. Roblox files it under Battlegrounds & Fighting, which tells you which half won.
Combat runs on 15 rollable fighting styles, from Basic at 59% down to Ali, WingChun and CQC at 0.025% each, layered over posture, parries, guardbreaks and grapples. You never pick a style — you roll it, which is why codes and reroll odds matter more here than in most games. This site keeps the numbers: every style perk value, the height scaling tables, ethnicity odds, hair colour RGBs and face IDs, plus a tier list argued from those numbers rather than from feel.
One thing to do before anything else: join the Gakuran Roblox group, or the experience will not load for you at all. Full background on the what is Gakuran page.

First Day
Start here, in order
- Join the Roblox group first. The experience refuses to load for anyone outside it — that is the real answer to "why can't I play Gakuran".
- Press T. Combat stance is off by default and nothing tells you. Then left click, R, F and Q — the full bind list.
- Redeem the one working code. CQC gives 30 rerolls; every other code you will see listed elsewhere is dead. Current codes.
- Learn what you rolled before you reroll it. Style perk values are on the fighting styles page, and the odds page shows what chasing a Legendary actually costs.
- Then play the other game. Instruments, 3v3 basketball, chess against ELO-rated NPCs, jobs through the phone — see activities and the map.

FAQ
Why can't I play Gakuran?
You have to join the Gakuran group on Roblox before the experience will load — that single requirement is behind most "why can't I play" and "you must be in the group" reports. Join the group, then relaunch. The experience itself is live: it was last updated on August 27, 2026 and had over 12,000 players in servers when we checked.
Is this the same Gakuran as the Japanese school uniform?
No, and that overlap is why searches get messy. A gakuran is the black stand-collar uniform worn by Japanese male students. This site is about the Roblox experience named after it, listed as (学乱) Gakuran, set in a Japanese town in May 2007.
How do I redeem codes in Gakuran?
Open the drawer icon on the left of the screen, choose the Codes tab, type the code, then press Redeem. Three separate outlets add gates to that: you must be in the Gakuran group, IGN and Eurogamer say you need about an hour of playtime first, and Beebom and RadioTimes add a minimum of five friends on the account. Only CQC currently works.
About This Site
Gakuran Wiki is an independent, unofficial fan resource for Gakuran players — not affiliated with GakuranDev.
- How we verify: Perk values and combat numbers come from the developers own public Trello board first, the community wiki second where the board has not caught up, and live figures (visits, likes, last update) straight from the Roblox universe API — never copied from another guide site.
- Update cadence: Codes get re-checked against four independent lists whenever any of them moves; data pages are revisited after each in-game version bump, and the change is written into the bulletin on the front page.
- What we don't do: No script, exploit or "free reroll generator" pages, no invented drop rates, and no code stays on the working list when two recent sources disagree about it.
